The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) proved her superiority in the round leather game, football by winning the annual Pentecostal Fellowship Of Nigeria (PFN) Football Competition.
In a keenly contested encounter that witnessed a large turn out on Sunday, November 28th , 2010, MFM defeated DayStar Christian Centre 2-1 at the University of Lagos Sport Center. A goal each from Ifeanyi George and Femi Oladejo gave MFM victory. Sixteen churches drawn from different states of Nigeria took part in the competition.
An elated MFM General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya commended the victorious team for not letting down their teeming supports who thronged the venue to cheer them to victory.
G.O. as he is fondly called by MFM members attributed the team’s success to the experience garnered from his pet project, the annual Dr. D.K. Olukoya International Youth Football event that attracts players from MFM churches across Africa, held at the Prayer City.
MFM are the defending champions of the annual Church League, a competition they have twice beaten The Redeemed Christian Church of God enroute winning the trophy, MFM also won the Boska Cup in Lagos recently.
Meanwhile, MFM Headquarters will confront MFM Ikeja in the finals of the Dr. D.K. Olukoya International Youth Football Competition which will hold December 11, 2010 at the Yaba College of Technology.
