
About ten million Naira was raised at the Emeka Enechi Trust Fund Launch which took place yesterday at the Media centre of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

The event which has the Lagos State Commissioner for Sports, Prince Ademola Adeniji Adele as the Chairman coupled with other eminent sports dignatries were able to raise funds either through promisory note and cheques.
Secretary of the Emeka Enechi Fund Raising Foundation, Ben Alaiya, assured that money sourced through event would be judiciously expended for the up keep of Enechi's family, stressing that the committee would meet in Lagos to discuss the manner at which money would be released for the family and also to mae it an annual event.
The Managing Director of SportsDay Nespaper, said the committee would work hard to ensure that Enechi's family have a befitting accomodation, regular payment of schools of his children as well as other basic needs of life are provided for his family.
Ejiro Omonode, the Managing Director of Masters Sports International who made a personal donation and corporate on behalf of the outfit, made an interesting remarks on the deceased, charged the committee not to make the event a one off ceremony but should endeavor to make a yearly event where sports administrators, sports writters and friends would meet for a common goal for a friend who left the world recently.
The Commissioner for Sports, Prince Ademola Adeniji- Adele, said the deceased, Emeka Enechi, examplary life has geared many sports administrators among others to be part of the fund raising as he advised sports writters to be of good behavior.
Among the dignatries that graced the occasion were Aisha Falode, Kazeem Abimbola, Agboola Dabiri, Fred Edoreh, Frank Ilaboya, Paul Ogazi, Kayode Tijani.
