Governor Fashola Summons Sports Administrators To Meeting.

The Lagos State Governor, Bababtunde Raji Fashola, has summoned the Lagos State Sports Council and the Ministry of Sports for crucial meeting scheduled for this week at the Governor's office, Alausa,Ikeja.

The meeting according to our correspondent is geared at redeeming the status of sports in the state as the state's sports council prepares ahead of the National Sports Council in Rivers State, in June, 2011.

Just last week, the Commissioner for Sports, Prince Ademola Adeniji- Adele, summoned the Sports Council Board members, officials of the state's Sports Endowment and office of Senior Special Assisitant to the Governor on grassroot Sports.

The meeting was revealing as crucial issues affecting sports in the state was discussed with the Sports Council expressing its concern over neglection by various sports agencies in the state.

The Sports Council believed that meeting with the Governor will be a good avenue to resolve issues which has placed the council as aa second fiddle to a sports agency which ordinarily should be under the council according to the dict tat establish the Sports Council.
