Head coach of crestfallen junior Red
Devils of Congo Brazzaville,Basile Erariki, has predicted a
possible Nigeria versus Cote d’Ivoire final after his team was
dumped out of the competition on Saturday.
Congo finished third
behind the two West African teams in Group B on two points after
drawing 1-1 against Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana before receiving a 7-0
hiding from Nigeria on Saturday.
Speaking at the post match
conference at the Grande Stade de Marrakech, Erariki rated teams
in Group B, Congo, Cote D'Ivoire, Nigeria and Ghana over Group A
that had hosts Morocco, Tunisia, Gabon and Botswana.
In a
related development,Dalhatu Sidi Mamman, Sokoto Commissioner for Sports
who saw the Golden Eaglets crushed Congo, has equally tipped the team
to go all the way.
Eaglets
head Coach, Manu Garba, has reiterated the commitment of the Eaglets
at
this tournament, adding that the players are ready to work extra hard
to achieve glory.
Eaglets have started preparation ahead of the
vital semi final game against Tunisia who is yet to lose a game
at this tournament.
The North Africans beat Botswana and Gabon
3-1 and 4-2.
They drew 1-1 against hosts Morocco to finish
second in Group A due to inferior goal differences.
