Tanzania has emerged the winner of 27th edition of Mock African cup of Nations Football championship defeating Sierra Leone by a lone in a competition which ended yesterday at the Nigeria Navy playground, Ajegunle.
Ralph Onwerebe, Former Ocean Boys F.C scored the only goal of the match in a second half as the seirra leone failed to take advantage of their scoring chances in the first half.
In the spirit to equalise, the Seirra leone side put pressure on the opponents but their despiration did not yield positive results as the match became tough and rough.
With one goal in their Kitty, Tanzania smiled home the cash prize of one point two million naira while Seirra leone got seven hundred thousand naira just as Zambia grabbed five hundred thousand naira and Nigeria settled for three hundred thousand naira.
Tournament Cordinator, Ronald Audu, said the scope of the annnual football competition would be expanded as the organisers have decided to attract lucrative sponsors to add value to the tournament.
Audu, commended Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola for sustaining the programme through the office of the senior special Assistant to the Governor on grassroot sports development.
