64 Clubs To Feature In Midas Soccer Cup.

A total of sixty four grassroot football clubs will feature in the maiden edition of the Midas Football Competition billed to kick off on Saturday at the Police College playground and Cocoa playground.

The tournament's coordinator, Bestman Nze, who made this statement at the tournament's draw which was conducted last Friday, said the management of Midas Sports Entertainment decided to stage the competition in a bid to actively engaged the youths in a positive endeavor and also to take their mind away from negative activities.

Nze, said the the tournament would add value to the football players as football scouts are bound to visit match venues with the views of recruiting credible football layers, adding that plans are in top gear to select the best among the participating players for a training tour of South Africa.

According to him, the training tour of South Africa is part of the tournament's largesse geared at exposing the selected players to international football and also to build confidence in the football players who might be the future stars of Nigeria's Super Eagles.

He said the organizers had concluded plans to stage a day seminar for all the registered football clubs where they would be introduce to the competition's rules and regulations.

The competition's legal advicer, Barrister Salubi Ebojoh, said the essence of the seminar was to organize a discipline competition and also to use the platform for elevating the standard of grassroot football in Lagos State and Nigeria.

Some of the football clubs expected to feature in the competition are Police Machine, Juvenile F.C,C.M.D F.C, Ogudu United, Oregun United,F.C Athletico, LSDPC, Romapel F.C, Latter Rain Stars, C.C.C F.C, Sparrow F.C and Nationwide F.C,
