The proprietor of Owibeseb Football Club of Ojo, Solomon Akin-Aina, has called on football stakeholders, soccer fans and sports enthusiasts to concentrate on the Nigerian football leagues instead of the foreign football league.
Akin-Aina, who was the match commissioner for the match between Juvenile Football Club and Obeide Football Club in the Division One A of the Nigerian Nationwide League which took place at the Gateway Stadium, Ilaro, over the weekend, said most of the stadia approved for league matches were of international standard and friendly, thus the gesture would boost the players morale to display good soccer artistry to the delight of soccer fans.
He called on football stakeholders at all levels to acclimatize themselves with the present stadia development and also en courage Nigerian football players to focus on the league, stressing that most of the foreign professional leagues had once passed though similar problems before their leagues become a world class rated football league.
He urged corporate bodies to support the Nigeria Football Association and League Management Committee, LMC, in paving the way for growth of Nigeria football league, adding that Nigeria's home based Super Eagles won a bronze medal at the African Nations Championship because of the quality of football players featuring in the league with the assistance of Stephen Keshi, Eagles head coach.
