Nigeria's Wheelchair Tennis team has qualified for the World Wheelchair Tennis Team Cup holding in Holland in May after defeating Morocco in the 2014 African Wheelchair Tennis Qualifying Championship in Nairobi, Kenya on Sunday.
Nigeria recorded a two- one victory against Morocco to emerge winners of the 2014 African Wheelchair Tennis Qualifying Championship.
The duo of Wasiu Yusuf and Alex Adewale both won their singles matches which was enough to clinch the continent’s sole ticket to the World Team Cup billed for Holland in May.
Two-time Paralympian Yusuf who was stretched to the limit by Ayoub Etali won the game by two set to one, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 against his opponent who is the top-ranked player in his country.
Adewale, a London 2012 Paralympian, was equally given a run for his talent as he defeated Ihaj Boukartacha, 6-2,1-6,6-1.
