Flying Eagles To Face Ghana In AYC Semi Final

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will battle Ghana in Wednesday’s AYC semi final for a place in the championship after the Black Satellites finished runners-up in Group B.

Ghana lost 1-0 to Mali in a final Group B match in Mbour on Sunday to finish on six points, while Mali posted a perfect nine points to win the group and will battle hosts Senegal in the other semifinal on Thursday.

The Flying Eagles will be confident going into Wednesday’s semifinal having beaten the Black Satellites in a warm-up match in Tema last month.

The team were forced to a 2-2 draw by their hosts in Accra, before they won the second friendly.
The Flying Eagles also pipped their archrivals 1-0 in the 2011 AYC in South Africa.
