Following the departure of the Head coach of Super Falcons,Thomas Dennerby, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has given approval to its consulting firm to submit a shortlist of candidates for the position of Super Falcons chief coach.
The team, which crashed out of the football event of the postponed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games after playing One- all draw against Cote D’Ivoire, in a match played at the Agege Township Stadium, Lagos, has been without a substantive coach.
''The Board approved that the reputable consulting firm contracted by the NFF should, as soon as possible, submit a shortlist of candidates for the positions of Head Coach of the Super Falcons, NFF Head of Women Football, Head of Compliance Unit and Chief Commercial Officer.''
Former Nigeria's international,Perpetua Nkwocha, has excused herself in coaching Super Falcons of Nigeria at the moment, stressing that she was presently preoccupied with the club coaching job in Sweden.
However, the Falconets and Flamingoes FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers, the Nigeria Football Federation, has written the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for a special waiver to invite players to camp.
The federation, which is now awaiting response from the Government before making any moves for the camping programme, is expecting its consulting firm to shortlist candidates for the Federation's Head of Women Football, Head of Compliance Unit and Chief Commercial Officer.
