Etisalat FC Barcelona U-17 Schools Cup Winners beat Al Yasmina School, UAE 2-0.

Winners of last year’s Etisalat FC Barcelona U-17 Schools Cup, Keke High School of Agege, Lagos were cynosure of all eyes in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Monday morning in an international football friendly against Al Yasmina School.

Keke High School players showed true champions in them as they thrashed their Abu Dhabi’s school counterparts 2-0 amidst cheer from hundreds of fans that watched the cracker.

Two first half goals from Lateef Animashaun and Victor Ohama were all Keke High School handled by Coach Ojo Afolabi needed to claimed victory over their hosts in the friendly tie.

Animashaun scored the first goal for the Nigerian team in the 10 minute, while Ohama netted home the winner in 21 minute. Effort by the football team of  Al Yasmina School to get a consolatory goal in the tension soaked encounter proved abortive before the match ended.

An elated Coach Afolabi praised the gallantry display of his boys, saying that the trip has exposed his team to modern trend in world football.

“This was a good outing for us,” said the coach who had before the match vowed that his boys are in UAE to emulate the Golden Eaglets who came to UAE to lift FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy.

“We promised before the match that we would come out victorious, I’m happy we did just that. There is no doubt that these young boys will savour this trip and the experience garnered here for some time to come. I have to thank the management of Etisalat for making this happen. We are grateful,” he said.

Keke High School team were presented with a giant trophy after the match before they continued with the tour of Abu Dhabi that lasted till Monday evening.
