Despite clinching the second position in the just concluded Copa Lagos Beach soccer competition, the management of Seven - up Bottling company has rewarded the Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles with the sum of seven thousand and five hundred dollars.
The company's Managing Director, Sunil Sawhney, who presented a cheque to the team, said the move was to encourage the players and also boost the players morale ahead of the 2015 FIFA Beach soccer World cup qualifier and other international friendlies.
Sawhney, said Nigeria's Super Sand Eagles that had won the Copa Lagos Beach soccer competition thrice consecutively, deserved the reward which is part of the company's contributions to the growth of Beach soccer in Nigeria, adding that the Sand Eagles need the assistant of corporate bodies to keep the team focus.
The company's Head of Marketing, Norden Thurston, has praised the Pepsi Academy Beach soccer team for living up to expectations despite losing to Fc Barcelona Beach soccer squad 7 - 4 in the Copa Lagos Beach soccer tournament.
Thurston, stressed that the Pepsi Academy team were in camp for a period of one month to the competition and losing to Fc Barcelona Beach soccer team was a fantastic achievement when compared to an established Spanish side that is well grounded in beach soccer.

The Director Pepsi Football Academy, Kashimawo Laluko, said the company would join hands with the Lagos State Football Association, LSFA, to support LSFA drive towards developing beach soccer, adding that the Eko Beach soccer League is the future of beach soccer in Nigeria if properly managed.
The former technical director of Nigeria Football Federation,NFF, said the Eko Beach soccer league would spur more teams to register for subsequent editions.
